Pro-Kurdish demonstrations in Batman, Türkiye, descend into riots — Local media

Anadolu Agency reports that fires have been started as protesters clash with security forces.

The police use water cannons to disperse the crowd.

The unrest started when Ankara's justice minister “disenfranchised” Abdullah Zeidan, who had been elected as mayor of a municipal town and is from a different political party.
