The Delta IV heavy launch vehicle launched a reconnaissance satellite into orbit for the US military.

The launch was the last for rockets of this series; since the 1960s, about 300 Delta launches have been carried out. They are being replaced by the “less expensive and more powerful” Vulcan launch vehicle.
