London Mayor backs Met Police chief over 'openly Jewish' row

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has resisted calls for the capital's police chief to resign after one of his officers threatened a man with arrest for attempting to pass through a pro-Palestine protest, on the grounds that he was "openly Jewish".

"The way the original incident was dealt with by the Met was concerning and the original response put out by them was insensitive and wrong," Khan said, while the man in question, Gideon Falter, claims he was "treated like a criminal for being Jewish".
