Former State Minister Alexi Petriashvili detained at Tbilisi rally - SputnikGeorgia
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the former Minister for Integration into the EU and NATO was among the detainees during last night's mass protest, although the total number remains unconfirmed.
The Interior Ministry claimed police were forced to use tear gas against protesters, reports RT correspondent Kostya Pridybaylo, because they became violent and repeatedly tried to break through the police cordon.
Special forces were deployed to try and control the situation near the parliament building.
