New York Governor Kathy Hochul says Black kids don’t know what the word ‘computer’ means

Hochul has received significant backlash from leaders in the Black community.

“Our children are bright, brilliant, extremely capable, and more than deserving of any opportunities that are extended to other kids,” Assembly Member Karines Reyes said.

Hochul has already backtracked on her comments.“Earlier today, while discussing my commitment to expanding economic opportunity for communities of color, I misspoke and I regret it. Of course Black children in the Bronx know what computers are.”
