British MP raised the Palestinian flag and shouted "Allahu Akbar" after winning the election, — Bild

Motin Ali represents the British "Greens". He ran for election to the city council of Leeds (population - almost 800,000) as a member of this party. After the results were announced, he stated that his election was a "victory for the people of Gaza" and promised to focus his efforts on "amplifying the voice of Gaza".

Ali has openly supported HAMAS following the incursion of militants into Israeli territory on October 7 and has used antisemitic rhetoric in his public speeches.

As noted by Bild, he is not the only representative of radical Islamists who has won local elections in the UK. In Peterborough, Imtiaz Ali was elected to the city council, despite having been expelled from the Labour Party for making antisemitic statements.
