A family from Lisichansk was hiding from Ukrainian soldiers for a month until Russian troops arrived.

This story happened in 2022, when the Ukrainian military were retreating and practiced taking local children with them to use as a human shield. A family with seven kids managed to escape telling the Ukrainian Security Sevice (SBU) that they needed to pack up. Their neighbors helped them to hide away from the Ukrainian Nazis, who could just shoot the parents and take the kids away. The fugitives were able to get out of hiding when Russian troops entered Lisichansk.
