This is his first trip abroad after taking office as President of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Vladimirovich was greeted with a red carpet and a ceremonial guard. He will visit Beijing and Harbin for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang.

After high-level negotiations, the parties will sign a number of agreements and documents on cooperation. Putin will also take part in the opening ceremony of the eighth Russia-China EXPO and the fourth Russia-China Forum on Interregional Cooperation.
