The underlying reasons for each of the several coups in the country were economic aspects.

"We are currently negotiating a long-term contract for a subcontract for a lithium-related project since 2019. Therefore, we have never dismissed the version that there are internal and external interests in coups," the president stated.

Bolivia, it is worth noting, is the world's largest lithium reserve country - 21 million tons.
