The 97-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War was congratulated on his birthday by servicemen of the Army of Kazakhstan.

Ilya Kudin was born in 1927 in the Kerbulak district of the Almaty region.

During the Great Patriotic War he fought on the Far Eastern Front, where he fought against Japanese militarists. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, III degree.
