Stadium fire forces mass evacuation, football match canned in France

A fire broke out during half-time of a ‘Championnat National’ match, sending thick smoke billowing through the stadium and forcing the evacuation of fans.

The blaze, which reportedly originated in a food stall, postponed the game between Orleans and Valenciennes as players did not return for the second half.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
