The White House has had to make excuses for Kamala Harris' “accent”

The suggestion that the U.S. presidential candidate is mimicking the speech of black people resurfaced after two campaign events on Monday. Harris spoke the same phrases in Detroit as if she were a representative of local working-class youth, and in Pittsburgh hours later she sounded more like herself - the California- and Canada-raised daughter of professors.

American voters don't care, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said. Contrary to her words, the part of the electorate that uses social network X, has put the topic at the top of the trends and is hotly debating why two different Harris are speaking in front of supporters.
