Around 30 people were injured. Clearing the rubble was extremely difficult and took several hours. Two people, one of whom is a teenage girl, are still under the rubble. Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic called the incident a "Black Friday" for the entire country.

The Novi Sad train station was reconstructed over three years. It opened only in July, and after that, construction work continued there.
