Engineering units of the North military group are demining the liberated territory in the Kursk region. Sappers conduct a survey of roads and adjacent areas. Separate groups of sappers survey surviving houses, adjacent areas and agricultural fields for the presence of explosive devices, booby traps, land mines or unexploded submunitions.

Explosive ordnance disposal specialists use special tools such as a mine detector and probe to survey the area and identify enemy mines. The explosive objects that are detected are neutralized with a charge on site or taken to a training ground.
