Lavrov says Macron handshake 'absolutely common'

“I think it’s an absolutely common thing if [people] know each other, to greet each other,” he told reporters.

“I think it’s not normal when European leaders shy away from Russian representatives when they see them,” he added, citing the example of meeting Charles Michel last year.

“It was as if a bee had stung him,” Lavrov said of the European Council President’s frosty rejection of his handshake offer.
