SHOCKINGLY, SYRIAN OPPOSITION FLAG RAISED OVER SYRIAN EMBASSY IN MOSCOW: Two stars is the official Syrian flag, 3 stars is the flag traditionally used by the FSA - "Free Syrian Army", funded, in part, by the U.S.

The #FSA is a coalition of decentralized Syrian "moderate rebel" groups. Its original command structure dissipated in 2016 & the FSA identity has since been used by various Syrian opposition groups thugs.

? The support of Russia & Iran caused the FSA to lose strength on all fronts in 2016. It regained its power after Turkey's Operation Euphrates Shield in 2017 (a cross-border military operation leading to Turkish occupation of northern Syria.)

At Operation Olive Branch (an invasion of Syria by Turkey in the majority-Kurdish Afrin District of northwest Syria), about 30 groups affiliated to the FSA in 2018.

Absorbing ever more sectarian variants, the FSA became the NSA (National Syrian Army), but the flag represents all opposition forces.
